My goal: photograph the wedding ceremony, portraits and get extra shots having a good time all in 1 hour! Not possible you say… and I might have agreed before today! Fast, yet relaxed, and fun were lovebirds John and Kimberly – who’ve been together since before high school! They’ve known each other since they were 4 years old, and their families have celebrated every major life event together. This intimate, simple ceremony held on Moonstone Beach right out from Shamel Park, was so sweet, loving and fun – I felt like an old friend. I could easily feel their trust and comfort with each other, no pretenses or facades, just pure contentment. How fortunate to find your best friend so young and mesh so perfectly. What a joy!
{Chris’ Surprise Marriage Proposal} at Hearst Castle + Engagement Photo Shoot
Chris probably didn’t retain much “tour information” from their Hearst Castle Cottages and Kitchen Tour, since he had a box in his pocket and was anxiously awaiting the perfect moment to propose marriage! As the tour ended, he led his bride-to-be Ani to a secluded corner overlooking the rolling hills and majestic ocean. (I absolutely love being a secret agent – following couples until the big moment!) They are both architect students so being surrounded by Julia Morgan‘s designs – from Hearst’s guest houses, pools, and most of the grounds, was perfectly apropos. Ani was so surprised she cried with joy…I almost started too.
Rainy Day Wedding – Ragged Point, Big Sur
Rainy Day Wedding is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. A knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!
Rainy, Sunny, Windy, Overcast… the beauty of the world is happening organically and embracing whatever the weather is for your unique wedding day, will keep spirits uplifted and united!
