Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner’s Cove on a Rainy Day

Pastel Roses for a Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner's Cove in Montana de Oro

The rain stopped just in time for Melody + Charlotte’s beachfront ceremony along a gorgeous cove in Montana de Oro State Park!  This lovely, intimate gay wedding in Los Osos, California, was so sweet and simple.  Friends and family were shoulder to shoulder gathered under a 10′ x 10′ white pop up tent, since rain was the forecast.  Miraculously it stopped at the ceremony’s start time, and Melody, Charlotte and their two children walked across the width of the beach dry!

Their minister was a long time friend who added such warmth and connection to the day.  Her stories, along with Melody + Charlotte’s original wedding vows made everyone shed tears and laugh deeply.  It was all so beautiful. I love intimate gay weddings because you feel the deep connection and love and respect for everyone!

The reception was at the lovely Buona Tavola in San Luis Opispo where they took over the back patio area under the twinkling lights.

I’m so grateful to have met these two amazing women, with whom I hope to continue a friendship with!  Melody writes and shares ideas for gay wedding planing on her blog www.centralcoastgayweddings.com so check it out!

Jenna + Cody’s Red & Black Wedding

Red and Black Wedding_Small Town_Destination_Cambria_CA_Photographer

Jenna + Cody’s red & black wedding took place in the gardens of Robin’s Restaurant.  Her elegant, fitted, long black wedding dress was so unconventional, yet perfect for a December wedding.

Jenna hired Rhonda Johnson from Bridal Hair and Makeup to help her get ready.  Rhonda is such a positive, sweet energy on your wedding day, you just feel relaxed in your chair while she is uses her amazing stylist skills in a natural, elegant fashion.

Jenna + Cody are adorable together, both emulating a natural softness and care towards each other and all family members.  They played a really cute shoe game during the reception, where they held each other’s shoes, and statements like “this is the messier person in the relationship” were read.  whoever thought it most applied to the other, raised the that shoe!  The toasts made were so loving and funny I felt like I just fell in love with these two families.

I am blessed to live in Cambria, and am so happy to be a wedding photographer here!

AJ + Raphael Married on the Cliffs {Small Beach Town Wedding}

LGBT Wedding-Small Wedding_-Small Town Wedding-Gay Wedding Photographer_Debbie Markham Photography_Cambria CA

It warms my heart so much to have photographed this lovely gay wedding. Their family and friends were sooooo affectionate towards each other before, during and after the event, The exchange of vows held deeper meaning and funnier anecdotes than most. And the ethereal afternoon fog made me feel warmer and fuzzier than normal. Central Coast weather is always so cozy and stunning, especially on days like these. I loved photographing this LGBT wedding!

My cheeks hurt from smiling the whole time.  Such a beautiful and memorable intimate destination wedding, with incomparable surroundings, great company, and endless amounts of love. So refreshing and heartwarming to see the amount of love shared between these two. Thank you AJ and Raphael for hiring me!
