Family Portraits in Cayucos

Family Portraits in Cayucos_Photographer_Cambria_Debbie_Markham

Shooting natural light family portraits are my favorite!  Even though photographing a family of six (including 4 children under 12), could be a challenge; these darling children were so well behaved and calm. Almost like a spell had been cast on them (haha!). Mom brought snacks and a bribe, and the results were definitely better 🙂

We started the family portraits right along Highway 1 north of Cayucos at a random pullout with a large ocean bluff field.  Then we took more family photos around Moonstone Beach!

The weather was sunny and warm with a slight breeze. I absolutely love living on the Central Coast for days like these. Spending time and laughing with these sweet and beautiful children was all so delightful – it made me love my job even more.

Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding in Spring

Spring Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding

Planning an outdoor Spring wedding can be risky since weather is unpredictable. But that didn’t detour Leann and Matt from booking their Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding!  They had the luck of the Irish (…it looked like Ireland with the large grassy areas), and were blessed with high clouds and peeks of sun, for a perfect mid-day ceremony outside!

The Santa Barbara Courthouse is a lovely venue for a small wedding in late March. Friends and family set up white folding chairs, brought in a few furniture pieces + their own wood trellis + wood stumps to define the isle, and adorned it all with fresh flowers!  After the ceremony, there were endless opportunities for gorgeous wedding portraits around the diverse foliage and six sides of the Courthouse building.

Here’s a link to info on the Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding, and some info on Weddings in Santa Barbara.

I would definitely recommend a Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding!  I’ll be photographing an indoor elopement in June there, so check back and see what that’s like!  And don’t hesitate to send me a message or email me with any questions, I was recently a bride myself and know what it’s like to be in your shoes!

Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner’s Cove on a Rainy Day

Pastel Roses for a Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner's Cove in Montana de Oro

The rain stopped just in time for Melody + Charlotte’s beachfront ceremony along a gorgeous cove in Montana de Oro State Park!  This lovely, intimate gay wedding in Los Osos, California, was so sweet and simple.  Friends and family were shoulder to shoulder gathered under a 10′ x 10′ white pop up tent, since rain was the forecast.  Miraculously it stopped at the ceremony’s start time, and Melody, Charlotte and their two children walked across the width of the beach dry!

Their minister was a long time friend who added such warmth and connection to the day.  Her stories, along with Melody + Charlotte’s original wedding vows made everyone shed tears and laugh deeply.  It was all so beautiful. I love intimate gay weddings because you feel the deep connection and love and respect for everyone!

The reception was at the lovely Buona Tavola in San Luis Opispo where they took over the back patio area under the twinkling lights.

I’m so grateful to have met these two amazing women, with whom I hope to continue a friendship with!  Melody writes and shares ideas for gay wedding planing on her blog www.centralcoastgayweddings.com so check it out!
