Doug was singing in the rain after his surprise proposal to Samantha up in Big Sur this winter! And her pink rain boots were so awesome! They were on vacation driving from SF to LA and arranged with me to meet at Sand Dollar Beach across from Plasket Creek Campgrounds in Big Sur. Then the weather decided to up it’s game! Surprise proposal photography will keep you on your toes!
We were not afraid.
I am still so impressed that they departed Carmel at 7:30am to make our 9am proposal time! I was walking the grassy fields adjacent the parking lot with my clear umbrella at 8:55am, looking like a tourist, and sure enough, right at 9am they strolled by both snuggling underneath a big navy and white umbrella.
Samantha’s pure joy and excitement with Doug’s surprise proposal will make anyone elated for them, and I feel so happy for their connection. Their engagement shoot and fun photos after in the intermittent rain were adorable.
