Cambria Wedding on the Beach

Cambria wedding on the beach

A Cambria wedding on the beach doesn’t normally include lots of kilts! Meet our lovely bride and groom, Tonia + Flint, one a Scott + one a Celtic! The spirited couple incorporated the best aspects of their cultures, including a processional from Leffingwell Landing (where guests walked across the bridge and down the boat ramp to the small cove), live bagpipes playing, and a mix of Scotch + Whiskey which they shard from their ceremonial goblet!

A Cambria wedding on the beach is more than just a ceremony—it’s an experience. The golden sands and rolling waves provide a natural elegance that enhances every moment. Imagine exchanging vows with the Pacific Ocean as your witness, the gentle sea breeze mingling with the vows of love, and the sunset painting the sky in hues of pink and orange.

The location itself offers a stunning visual narrative, making it a photographer’s dream. As a photographer who specializes in beachside weddings, I find that the natural light and dramatic landscapes of Cambria lend themselves to truly magical photos. Whether it’s capturing the intimate moments between the couple or the wide-angle shots of the coastline, a Cambria wedding on the beach provides an unparalleled canvas for creating unforgettable images.

The tranquil off-season months are an ideal time for your Cambria beach wedding. It offer a more private experience, with fewer crowds and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Tips for Your Cambria Beach Wedding Photography

  1. Plan for the Wind/Fog: Beach environments can be breezy. Consider hairstyles and dress choices that will work well with the wind, ensuring you stay comfortable and look fabulous in your photos.
  2. Get into the Landscape: The dramatic coastal landscapes will frame your shots. The cliffs, rocks, and ocean waves add depth and interest to your wedding photographs.
  3. Stay Relaxed: A beach setting is inherently laid-back. Embrace the casual vibe and let your genuine emotions shine through in your photos.

As a Cambria photographer, I’m always thrilled to capture the magic of such a beautiful location and help couples create lasting memories of their special day. If you’re dreaming of a wedding with a breathtaking backdrop, a cliff or beach wedding offers an enchanting setting where the ocean meets the rugged shore, creating a picture-perfect venue for your special day.

If you’re considering a beach wedding, Cambria’s picturesque shores offer an unparalleled canvas for your love story. Contact me today to start planning the perfect photographic journey!

Ocean View Wedding in Big Sur

Ocean view, Cliffside wedding in Big Sur, CA

Cristina + Ryan’s ocean view wedding in Big Sur was amazing on a secluded bluff of California’s Central Coast.  Just south of Ragged Point, guests pulled over to parallel park on Highway One.

Attendees went through a small opening of a fence along Highway 1, and continued walking parallel along the cliff, down to a small ragged point jetting out in the ocean.  Cristina + Ryan, along with their closest friends and relatives, exchanged vows on the rocky cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The best weather on our Central Coast is in the Fall and Spring, and Cristina + Ryan had perfect weather!!!  November weddings are perfect!

Loved their motorcycle and sidecar, and her custom bride helmet!  They drove to Cambria on Highway One from Big Sur and I followed them smiling the whole way.

Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner’s Cove on a Rainy Day

Pastel Roses for a Intimate Gay Wedding at Spooner's Cove in Montana de Oro

The rain stopped just in time for Melody + Charlotte’s beachfront ceremony along a gorgeous cove in Montana de Oro State Park!  This lovely, intimate gay wedding in Los Osos, California, was so sweet and simple.  Friends and family were shoulder to shoulder gathered under a 10′ x 10′ white pop up tent, since rain was the forecast.  Miraculously it stopped at the ceremony’s start time, and Melody, Charlotte and their two children walked across the width of the beach dry!

Their minister was a long time friend who added such warmth and connection to the day.  Her stories, along with Melody + Charlotte’s original wedding vows made everyone shed tears and laugh deeply.  It was all so beautiful. I love intimate gay weddings because you feel the deep connection and love and respect for everyone!

The reception was at the lovely Buona Tavola in San Luis Opispo where they took over the back patio area under the twinkling lights.

I’m so grateful to have met these two amazing women, with whom I hope to continue a friendship with!  Melody writes and shares ideas for gay wedding planing on her blog www.centralcoastgayweddings.com so check it out!
